Dapat maghanda ang mga konsyumer para sa mas mataas na bayarin sa kuryente sa susunod na buwan matapos aprubahan ng Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) ang pagtaas ng feed-in tariff allowance (FIT-All). Ang pagtaas ng singil ay dulot ng pagkaubos ng FIT-All Fund, na naapektuhan ng patuloy na mababang presyo sa Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).
Sa isang pahayag, kinumpirma ng ERC na inaprubahan nito ang aplikasyon ng National Transmission Corporation (TransCo) upang itaas ang FIT-All rate mula P0.0838 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) patungong P0.1189 per kWh sa kanilang regular na pagpupulong noong Pebrero 19.
Ang FIT-All ay isang standardized charge na ipinapataw sa lahat ng on-grid electricity consumers upang matiyak ang patuloy na suporta para sa renewable energy (RE) sector.
“In approving the increase, the ERC noted the depletion of the FIT-ALL Fund due to sustained low prices in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM),” ayon sa pahayag.
“The lower-than-expected WESM prices adversely affected the fund’s capacity to cover the FIT payments, necessitating adjustments in the FIT-ALL computation to ensure the payments for the supply to consumers coming from renewable energy (RE) FIT-eligible power plants,” dagdag nito.
Ipinaliwanag din ng ERC na ang FIT Differential, na tumutukoy sa agwat sa pagitan ng FIT rates na binabayaran sa renewable energy generators at kasalukuyang presyo sa WESM, ay binago sa P10,125,029,884, mas mababa mula sa unang pagtataya ng TransCo na P13,541,077,775, batay sa aktwal na generation data mula Enero hanggang Disyembre 2024.
“The ERC is committed to ensuring that FIT payments are sustained to support the continued development of renewable energy projects while balancing the impact on consumers,” pagtatapos ng pahayag.
